The consultation on proposed changes to Family Court Rules has now closed and we’d like to thank the individuals and organisations that submitted a response for their valuable feedback. We will update this page with a summary of what we heard in due course.
The Family Court Rules govern the way in which proceedings in the Family Court must be brought and dealt with.
A number of the current Family Court Rules apply primarily to paper-based systems and are not suited to the digital processes envisaged by Te Au Reka. Changes to the Family Court Rules are therefore required to enable Te Au Reka to be implemented in the Family Court.
We sought input on areas of the Family Court Rules where changes may be required to enable the successful implementation and operation of Te Au Reka in the Family Court.
