List of offenders awarded compensation

If you‘re a victim of an offender named in a notice of payment into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account, you may be entitled to make a claim against the money awarded to the offender.

Notice of Payment into Victims’ Claims Trust Account

This is the current list of offenders that have been awarded compensation:

Daniel Jonathan Sixtus

TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to part 2 of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005, compensation awarded to Daniel Jonathan Sixtus is required to be paid to the Secretary for Justice, and the surplus after deductions is to be held in Trust on behalf of Daniel Jonathan Sixtus.

AND THAT on 18 October 2016, $800.00 was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on behalf of Daniel Jonathan Sixtus. This money must be held in the Trust Account to enable any victims of Daniel Jonathan Sixtus to make claims against it.

ANY PERSON that has been a victim of Daniel Jonathan Sixtus, in respect of an offence for which Daniel Jonathan Sixtus was convicted in a Court of New Zealand, is entitled to make a claim against the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Daniel Jonathan Sixtus. Claims by victims are not limited to the amount available in the Trust Account.

Samuel Storm White

TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to part 2, (subpart2) of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“the Act”), compensation awarded to Samuel Storm White was paid to the Secretary for Justice on 26 February 2016, and the surplus, was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on 16 December 2015 on behalf of Samuel Storm White to enable any victims of that offender to make claims against it.

AND THAT on 26 March 2016, notice was given by publication in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and on 26 March 2016 on the website of the Ministry of Justice, of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account, and the entitlement of Victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.

UNDER section 32(1)(b) of the Act, the Secretary for Justice has now paid out all of the  money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Samuel Storm White.

Lorraine Denise Tautari

TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to part 2, (subpart2) of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“the Act”), compensation awarded to Lorraine Denise Tautari was paid to the Secretary for Justice on 2 March 2016, and the surplus, was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on 14 March 2016 on behalf of Lorraine Denise Tautari to enable any victims of that offender to make claims against it.

AND THAT on 2 July 2016, notice was given by publication in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and on 2 July 2016 on the website of the Ministry of Justice, of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account, and the entitlement of Victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.

UNDER section 32(1)(b) of the Act, the Secretary for Justice has now paid out all of the  money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Lorraine Denise Tautari.

AND THAT on 23 May 2016, $1,350.00 was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on behalf of Nicholas Paul Alfred Reekie. This money must be held in the Trust Account to enable any victims of Nicholas Paul Alfred Reekie to make claims against it.

AND THAT on 2 July 2016, notice was given by publication in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and on 2 July 2016 on the website of the Ministry of Justice, of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account, and the entitlement of Victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.
