Ethan Kane Valent

A compensation payment has been made to Ethan Kane Valent in respect of a specified claim under the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (the Act).
 
The Act requires that after the Secretary of Justice makes certain deductions from the compensation payment, the surplus remaining goes into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account to enable victims of Ethan Kane Valent to make claims against it.
 
Any money left after any victims’ claims have been paid will be paid to Ethan Kane Valent
 
On 27 August 2024, $1,287.50 was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on behalf of Ethan Kane Valent
 
The money paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account is held in trust for Ethan Kane Valent until it has been paid out in accordance with subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Act.
 
Any person who has been a victim of Ethan Kane Valent, in respect of an offence for which Ethan Kane Valent was convicted in a Court of New Zealand, is entitled to make a claim against the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Ethan Kane Valent
 
Claims by victims are not limited to the amount available in the Trust Account.
