Notice of end of process for making and determining victims’ claims

Below is a list of offenders who have been awarded compensation and the funds have now been paid out:

Brendon Douglas Forrest

Pursuant to subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (the Act), compensation awarded to Brendon Douglas Forrest was paid to the Secretary for Justice and after making any deductions, the surplus remaining was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on 20 October 2023 on behalf of Brendon Douglas Forrest to enable any victims of that offender to make claims against it.

From 6 November 2023 notice was given by publication in the New Zealand Gazette, on the website of the Ministry of Justice and in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account, and the entitlement of victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.

The Secretary for Justice has now paid out all or the last of the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Brendon Douglas Forrest in accordance with Subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Act.

Glen Jack-Kino

Pursuant to subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Prisoners' and Victims' Claims Act 2005 (the Act), compensation awarded to Glen Jack-Kino was paid to the Secretary for Justice and after making any deductions, the surplus remaining was paid into the Victims' Claims Trust Account on behalf of Glen Jack-Kino to enable any victims of that offender to make claims against it.

From 10 October 2023 notice was given by publication in the New Zealand Gazette, on the website of the Ministry of Justice, and on the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin of the sum of the money paid into the Trust Account, and the entitlement of victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.

The Secretary for Justice has now paid out all or the last of the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Glen Jack-Kino in accordance with Subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Act.

Christopher Jerome Stefani aka Koki Mark Douglas

Pursuant to subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (the Act), compensation awarded to Christopher Jerome Stefani aka Koki Mark Douglas was paid to the Secretary for Justice and after making any deductions, the surplus remaining was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on 22 February 2023 on behalf of Christopher Jerome Stefani aka Koki Mark Douglas to enable any victims of that offender to make claims against it.

From 28 February 2023 notice was given by publication in the New Zealand Gazette, on website of the Ministry of Justice and in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account, and the entitlement of victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.

The Secretary for Justice has now paid out all or the last of the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Christopher Jerome Stefani aka Koki Mark Douglas in accordance with Subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Act.

Pursuant to subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (the Act), compensation awarded to Brian Colin Whiteman was paid to the Secretary for Justice and after making any deductions, the surplus remaining was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on 14 September 2023 on behalf of Brian Colin Whiteman to enable any victims of that offender to make claims against it.

From 27 September 2023 notice was given by publication in the New Zealand Gazette, on the website of the Ministry of Justice and in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account, and the entitlement of victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.

The Secretary for Justice has now paid out all or the last of the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Brian Colin Whiteman in accordance with Subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Act.
