If you‘re a victim of an offender named in a notice of payment into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account, you may be entitled to make a claim against the money awarded to the offender.

This is the current list of offenders that have been awarded compensation - surnames F-J:

Carlos Hemara

A compensation payment has been made to Carlos Tawai Terangi Tuhiwai; Carlos Hemara in respect of a specified claim under the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (the Act).

The Act requires that after the Secretary of Justice makes certain deductions from the compensation payment, the surplus remaining goes into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account to enable victims of Carlos Tawai Terangi Tuhiwai; Carlos Hemara to make claims against it.

Any money left after any victims’ claims have been paid will be paid to Carlos Tawai Terangi Tuhiwai; Carlos Hemara

On 24 April 2024  $18,805.49 was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on behalf of Carlos Tawai Terangi Tuhiwai; Carlos Hemara

The money paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account is held in trust for Carlos Tawai Terangi Tuhiwai; Carlos Hemara until it has been paid out in accordance with subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Act.

Any person who has been a victim of Carlos Tawai Terangi Tuhiwai; Carlos Hemara, in respect of an offence for which Carlos Tawai Terangi Tuhiwai; Carlos Hemara was convicted in a Court of New Zealand, is entitled to make a claim against the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Carlos Tawai Terangi Tuhiwai; Carlos Hemara

Claims by victims are not limited to the amount available in the Trust Account.

Anthony Brian Horne

A compensation payment has been made to Anthony Brian Horne in respect of a specified claim under the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (the Act).

The Act requires that after the Secretary of Justice makes certain deductions from the compensation payment, the surplus remaining goes into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account to enable victims of Anthony Brian Horne to make claims against it.

Any money left after any victims’ claims have been paid will be paid to Anthony Brian Horne.

On 19 April 2024, $20,000.00 was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on behalf of Anthony Brian Horne.

The money paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account is held in trust for Anthony Brian Horne until it has been paid out in accordance with subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Act.

Any person who has been a victim of Anthony Brian Horne, in respect of an offence for which Anthony Brian Horne was convicted in a Court of New Zealand, is entitled to make a claim against the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Anthony Brian Horne.
