1 July 2015
The rollout of the National Home Safety Service by the National Collective of Women's Refuges begins today (1 July 2015).
The National Collective was awarded the $3.6 million contract by the Ministry of Justice in March. It will run for three years commencing in Auckland, Tauranga and Christchurch as part of a staged national roll-out.
When fully operating, the service will help up to 400 victims of family violence a year, and up to 600 children, to remain in their homes with a significantly reduced risk of serious physical harm or violence.
For further information see the Minister's statement(external link).
