Media

The Human Rights Review Tribunal applies the Media guide for reporting the courts and tribunals: Edition 4.1, appropriately adapted to the Tribunal’s unique jurisdiction and processes.

Non-party access to Human Rights Review Tribunal file

Where a non-party (including the media) seeks access to the documents on a Tribunal file, the Tribunal will have regard to the Human Rights Act 1993 and the  Senior Courts (Access to Court Documents) Rules 2017 appropriately adapted to the Tribunal’s unique jurisdiction and processes.

There is no application form but requests to access documents should provide the following information:

  • The name and address of the person seeking access to the document(s);
  • Sufficient particulars of the document(s) so they can be identified;

  •

    The purpose for which access is sought; and
  • Any conditions that the person seeking access would be prepared to meet were the Tribunal to impose those conditions.

Once the above information has been provided, it will be sent to the parties for their comment (unless this is considered unnecessary) and a decision made in due course.
