Application Area The Ngāi Tahu Takiwā, as defined in section 5 of the Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu Act 1996.  The Ngāi Tahu Takiwā includes all of the lands, islands and coasts of Te Waipounamu (the South Island) in an area south of points on both coasts (Kahurangi Point on the west coast and Parinui o Whiti (White Bluffs) on the east coast).

Application Area The area from the coastline of Westport, north up the west coast, around Farewell Spit, and along the Golden Bay coastline to Separation Point. The area covers all of the water from the coastline out to the 12 nautical mile extent.

Application Area The area covers all Totaranui/Queen Charlotte Sound, Kura Te Au/Tory Channel and Port Gore. It extends from Cape Lambert on the northern side of Port Gore north to the 12 nautical mile extent. It also extends from the headland north of Fighting Bay out to the midway point between the north and south islands. The area inluces Te Moana o Raukawakawa (Cook Straight) between the points described above. It covers all of the water from the coastline out to the 12 nautical mile extent.
