If you‘re a victim of an offender named in a notice of payment into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account, you may be entitled to make a claim against the money awarded to the offender.
Notice of end of process for making and determining victims’ claims
This is the current list of offenders that have been awarded compensation - surnames U-Z:
A compensation payment has been made to Trent Darby Wellington in respect of a specified claim under the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (the Act).
The Act requires that after the Secretary of Justice makes certain deductions from the compensation payment, the surplus remaining goes into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account to enable victims of Trent Darby Wellington to make claims against it.
Any money left after any victims’ claims have been paid will be paid to Trent Darby Wellington.
On 18 December 2023 $30,000.00 was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on behalf of Trent Darby Wellington.
The money paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account is held in trust for Trent Darby Wellington until it has been paid out in accordance with subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Act.
Any person who has been a victim of Trent Darby Wellington, in respect of an offence for which Trent Darby Wellington was convicted in a Court of New Zealand, is entitled to make a claim against the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Trent Darby Wellington.
Claims by victims are not limited to the amount available in the Trust Account.
